What is Ultima?

Ultima, a unique Tablet Computer controlled development from the well established vehicle based SCARECROW PREMIER bird dispersal system.

Operation is simplified by user selectable languages of English, French, German, Italian and Spanish; others can be specified to special order.

The 21cm (8.4”) touch screen can display a database of bird recognition information, including full screen illustrations to aid identification.

Ultima self-learns the routine of each Operator, also remembering, for example, prominent species present airside and the various sound levels previously used at GPS dependant airside locations.

Ultima establishes proof of dispersal procedures completed in real time, logging Operator, species, time and date; its inbuilt GPS function logs the vehicles airside position from which dispersal took place.

Ultima is a complete system, including roof mountable loudspeakers, Tablet mounting brackets, microphone for live announcements, back-up control unit and hot-pluggable USB flash drives to enable data captured to be transferred from the vehicle to the airfield analysis system for which audit software is provided.

The flash drive can also act as an identity key for each Operator, offering proof of their use and an audit trail of all processes to prove due diligence and to provide long term analysis of bird behavioural patterns.

Further benefits

In addition to the features detailed previously, the software driven basis of Ultima means that subsequent improvements and enhancements to the software can be delivered to existing system users via USB flash drive upgrade. For example, this could include enhanced bird species recognition pages and developments in functionality.

Ultima has a graphical data interface, so can be understood easily across the world. However, the software is also multilingual, so the required language can be selected.

The Ultima system also features a hard-wired remote control for use in the event of a tablet PC failure.
   
 

Intelligent Software

Ultima self learning software adjusts to suit the Operators needs. Over time it streamlines to the airport of use, remembering which species are prominent in specific locations. The software never removes control from the Operator; each function is readily accessed on screen.

Full Reporting

Every aspect of use is logged and stored onto a USB flash drive, used to transport data to the ‘office’ software for analysis and to identify the Operator.

GPS Accuracy

The location of the vehicle is constantly tracked by an on board GPS receiver, Operator controlled, to allow for accurate and organic mapping.
 

Bird Identification

In selecting a distress call, the Operator will have the choice to view detailed specie information. This will show a large illustration of each bird and a text description of its distinguishing features in the chosen language.
 

Future Proof

Ultima audit software is designed to run on a desktop/laptop PC in the Airfield Operations Office and offers data logging and analysis tools. The system has the capability to store full records of all bird control activity allowing the user to view long term seasonal, species and location patterns.

GPS Calibrated Airport Image Mapping

This adds the benefit of viewing the physical locations of any bird control activity. This data features the same in-depth filtering of the Ultima Report Generator!

Wildlife Logging

Hyderabad Airport is now implementing 2 Ultima systems complete with the Wildlife Logging module, adding the ability to log any non-bird wildlife activity on the airfield.
 

Firearm Detail Logging and Stock Control

With the inclusion of this module it is possible to record every single shot on your airfield. Be it shotgun, air rifle, pyrotechnic or a blank, even lethal, non-lethal or misfire. Every stock item is accounted for, Ultima will even let you know when to order more stock!
 

Video Logging of Bird Dispersal on Demand

For the most comprehensive demonstration of ‘due diligence’! ULTIMA is capable of replacing some or all of the existing airside monitoring software that is sometimes present; no mythical science is involved, nor expensive management fees, everything can be analysed at the airport and information exchanged with others operating ULTIMA including, from late 2008, waste and landfill sites, to assist with Annexe 14 monitoring.
